El Khat is a "homemade junkyard band" led by multi-instrumentalist Eyal El Wahab, known for its unique Arabic-Yemeni style that blends traditional Yemeni folk and pop music from the 1960s with a contemporary, experimental, and often psychedelic sound. A significant aspect of their music is the use of custom-built instruments made from recycled materials.
