We're heading into mid-September, and it feels like there's a little bit of everything on offer this week. From county fairs to glassblowing, there's a good chance something will catch your eye.
Midweek Merriment
Things kick off today, Wednesday, September 9th, with the Cashmere Farmers Market offering local produce and artisan goods. It's free to browse at the Cashmere Community Farmers Market. If you're curious about robotics for the kids, The Wells House is hosting an After School Robotics Parent Q&A Open House this evening.
Thursday, September 10th, is the start of the Chelan County Fair at the Chelan County Expo Center, which is always a good time for families. You can also catch the Chelan Evening Farmers Market for free. For some creative fun, Boulder Bend Glassworks has a Make Your Own Glass Fusing Workshop in the morning, or you can unwind with Live Music @ Rocky Pond Tasting Room or Live Music: Terry Mutter @ Wildflour in the evening. If you're in the mood for something a bit different, the WVMCC Film & Lecture Series at Wenatchee Valley College is presenting "Barren Lands of the Canadian Arctic- 6 Paddlers, 600 Miles, 6 Billion Bugs," which sounds like quite the adventure.
Weekend Wonders
Friday, September 11th, brings a mix of art and music. Front Street Park will host Leavenworth Village Art in the Park, showcasing a variety of artists. The Fall Into Chelan Car Show at Chelan Riverwalk Park promises some cool cars and a DJ. For live music, you have choices: Curtis Moore @ Goose Ridge Tasting Room, Live Music At Vin Du Lac Winery, Live Music at Pybus Public Market, and Live Music at Benson Vineyards. Armour Wines - Tasting Room is also holding their Fall Release Garden Party.
Saturday, September 12th, is a busy day. Start with Breakfast In The Park at Lions Club Park for an all-you-can-eat meal, or hit up the Lake Chelan Farmers Market for fresh goods. If you're feeling adventurous and have some cash to spare, an Interactive Glassblowing Experience is on offer at Boulder Bend Glassworks. The Cashmere Airport Day is a community event worth checking out. Music can be found with Kris Lahd @ Silvara Cellars and Rob and Laura Low @ Neu Flessenow Cellars. And for something truly unique, don't miss The Great Bavarian Duck Race at Blackbird Island. The evening wraps up with Epic Motion Dance at the Numerica Performing Arts Center and Pizza Party The Band at Pinnacle Beerworks.
Sunday, September 13th, offers more glass fusing at Boulder Bend Glassworks. For music, The Whisky Trail Band is at Silvara Cellars, and you can find Live Music at Succession Wines. Author Kristin Hannah will be discussing her work at both the Leavenworth Festhalle and the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts. And Big Sax Daddy will be performing at Chelan Ridge Winery.
Looking Ahead
Next week starts with Yoga Basics With Dianne at The Wells House on Monday, September 14th, and Wednesday, September 16th. Robotics programs for elementary and middle schoolers kick off on Monday as well. You can also find live music on Monday at Tsillan Cellars for Music Under the Vines and at Icicle Ridge Winery: Uptown. Tuesday, September 15th, has another Interactive Glassblowing Experience and Benevolent Night at München Haus. Auditions for Hamlet are happening at the Numerica Performing Arts Center on Wednesday. As the week winds down, Flowers for Wolves plays Benson Vineyards Estate Winery on Friday, September 18th, and BassICally will be at Pybus Public Market. Saturday, September 19th, brings more Leavenworth Village Art in the Park and The Travelers Performing Live @ Chelan Ridge Winery. To close out the two weeks, the Wenatchee River Salmon Festival is at the Rocky Reach Dam Discovery Center on Sunday, September 20th, and The Lubben Brothers perform at Wenatchee High School.
