It's the first week of September, and the region is still buzzing with summer concert series and outdoor events. We've got a mix of music, art, and community gatherings as we head into the holiday weekend.
Kicking Off the Week
Wednesday brings PIG to The Big Dipper for some live music at 7:30 PM. On Thursday, the Christy Lee Band plays at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars at 4:30 PM for $14, part of their summer series. If you're looking for something new, Friday starts early with an opening reception for Elizabeth Lancaster's 'Found in Translation' exhibition at Terrain Gallery at 5:00 PM – and it's free. Later that evening, The Big Dipper hosts Opaquis with Running From Nothing, The Monday Band, and Sick April for $20. There's also the Virgo Bloodline event at CenterPlace Regional Event Center at 6:00 PM for $23.
The Weekend Scene
Friday also offers a free Eats On Spokane Street End of Summer Party with a Western theme and live music. Saturday brings Jazz in the Park to Riverfront Park for a free afternoon of music. If you're looking for something a bit louder, Bent Outta Shape plays The Big Dipper with Thermal Vision, Ditch, and It's A Setup for $20. Or, if you're feeling nostalgic, the Knitting Factory is throwing an It's A 2000s Party: Spokane starting at 9:00 PM.
Sunday, the Hurricane Surfers are at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars at 4:30 PM for $20. The big ticket for Sunday is Earth, Wind & Fire performing live at BECU Live Outdoor Venue Airway Heights Washington at 7:30 PM ($93). There's also TOO BROKE TO ROCK FT. KINGDOM COLLAPSE at the Knitting Factory at 8:00 PM.
Labor Day and Beyond
Labor Day, Monday, September 7th, is packed with free concerts. The Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra plays a Labor Day Concert at Rotary Lakeside Bandshell at noon. The Spokane Symphony Labor Day Concert is at Comstock Park at 6:00 PM. The Diego Romero Band also performs at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars at 4:30 PM. Looking ahead, Magic Sword plays The District on Tuesday, September 8th, at 8:00 PM.
Next Weekend's Highlights
The following weekend, Friday the 11th, has a few interesting options. Downtown Coeur d'Alene hosts its monthly ArtWalk at 5:00 PM, a free event showcasing local artists. There's also the Spokane Valley Heritage Fair at Riverfront Park starting at 10:00 AM, and the Panhandle Patriot Music Festival for a good cause. The Spokane Civic Theatre presents 'Hole in the Sky,' and the Stage Left Theater stages 'Mad Underground' by local playwright Sandra Hosking. For music, The Stars Tour Featuring Anne Wilson is at The Fox Theater at 7:00 PM.
Saturday, the 12th, the Hillyard Bash is a community event, and the 33 Artists Market will be at Uprise Brewing Co. at 11:00 AM. Riverfront Park hosts Hands Across Spokane 2026 at 11:00 AM. For music, Flee The Century plays The Big Dipper with Psychic Death and Bandit Train for $15, and The Magic of Motown is at the Bing Crosby Theater at 7:30 PM. The Boomjam Music Festival is also happening downtown.
Sunday, September 13th, the Diego Romero Band returns to Arbor Crest Wine Cellars at 4:30 PM. Soul Proprietor performs at Mountain View Venue @ Bluff Dweller Farm for $25 at 3:00 PM.

Monday, September 14th, Pallbearer plays The Big Dipper at 7:30 PM for $25. Tuesday, September 15th, brings a busy night of music with Gretchen Wilson and The Band Perry at the Spokane County Interstate Fair at 7:00 PM, Stephen Wilson Jr. - Gary The Torch Tour at BECU Live Outdoor Venue Airway Heights Washington for $48, and WAYLON WYATT – DUSTPILES WORLD TOUR at the Knitting Factory at 8:00 PM. Lazarus also plays The Big Dipper with Love Brunch, Manta, and Black Velvet for $20. Wednesday, September 16th, Rob Zombie & Marilyn Manson are at BECU Live Outdoor Venue Airway Heights Washington.
