It's the last week of July, and the Spokane / Coeur d'Alene area is ready to close out the month with a bang. Get ready for street fairs, plenty of live music, and some theatrical delights.
Midweek Melodies and Markets
Wednesday, July 29th, has a few options to get you out and about. The River City Market & Music is happening at both Landing Point Kitchen + Bar and The Landings Off Pines, offering a free weekly market with live bands. Over in McEuen Park, The Hipsters will be performing 90s Dance Rock for free. If you're looking for something a bit bigger, Gavin Adcock performs with Corey Kent and Tyler Nance at Gesa Pavilion.
Thursday, July 30th, brings more music and a bit of culture. Jason Evans will be at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars for the Summer Concert Series, playing Soul / R&B. For some free rock, pop, country, and alternative music, catch Broken Mantle Band at Riverstone Park. The Spokane Civic Theatre is also presenting a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream if you're in the mood for some Shakespeare. For a unique musical experience, check out the free Music Bridges Borders concert at The Jacklin Arts & Cultural Center, featuring young musicians from Baja North, Mexico.
Weekend Festivals and Fantastic Sounds
The weekend kicks off in a big way on Friday, July 31st, with the 34th Annual Downtown Street Fair, Art on the Green & Taste of Coeur d'Alene. This free event takes over Downtown Coeur d'Alene and NIC campus, promising local vendors, artists, and performers. Music-wise, Simple Plan performs with Bowling for Soup and 3OH! at BECU Live Outdoor Venue Airway Heights Washington, and Dying Wish will be at the Knitting Factory.
Saturday, August 1st, continues the festival fun with the 34th Annual Downtown Coeur d'Alene Street Fair and Art on the Green still going strong. For music, the Australian Pink Floyd Show performs at BECU Live Outdoor Venue Airway Heights Washington. If you're looking for something different, there's Salsa in the Park at Mirabeau Point Park for a community dancing event. The Spokane Civic Theatre also has another performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Sunday, August 2nd, the 58th Annual Art on the Green is still happening at North Idaho College. For music, Tuxedo Junction will be playing big band swing for free at the Rotary Lakeside Bandshell. Later in the evening, Slightly Stoopid performs with The Elovaters and DENM at Gesa Pavilion, and Benson Boone will be at the Spokane Arena.
Early August Adventures
Looking into next week, Monday, August 3rd, features a Nick Shoulders concert at the Knitting Factory. On Tuesday, August 4th, the Riverfront Eats Food Truck Series kicks off at Riverfront Park for a free lunch option. For music, Balmora plays at The Big Dipper.
Wednesday, August 5th, brings another River City Market & Music to Landing Point Kitchen + Bar. The Knitting Factory will host The Movement performing with Pepper, and Liam St John will be at The District.
Thursday, August 6th, the Stage Takeover ft. Devon Wade is happening at The Club at Prairie Falls for some free live music. The Hankers will be playing boot-kicking country for free at McIntire Family Park. Chiodos performs at the Knitting Factory, and Legend Zeppelin, a tribute to Led Zeppelin, will be at The Big Dipper.
Friday, August 7th, closes out our digest with a few options. Dueling Pianos will be at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars. Too Slim and the Taildraggers are playing at Stormin’ Norman’s Shipfaced Saloon. If you're into country, Luke Bryan performs with Drew Baldridge, Karley Scott Collins, Shane Profitt & DJ Rock at Northern Quest Resort & Casino. The Spokane Civic Theatre is also presenting Alice in Wonderland Jr.
