Midweek Merriment
Starting today, Wednesday, September 9, you can join the Railroad Bridge Park Bird Walk hosted by Dungeness River Nature Center in Sequim, or catch Writers Read with Olympic Peninsula Authors at the Blue Whole Gallery. Later in the day, Kit Stovepipe brings Blues, Ragtime, Jazz, and Americana to Taps at the Guardhouse for a free performance.
Thursday, September 10, kicks off the Forever Twilight in Forks Festival for fans of the saga. If you're in Quilcene, Jesse Adams hosts an Open Mic at the Quilcene Lantern. For something a bit different, Ian Maksin performs 'Beyond Neoclassical' at Field Arts & Events Hall.
The Weekend is Packed
Friday, September 11, marks the start of the Wooden Boat Festival at Point Hudson Marina, an annual celebration of maritime heritage. If you're looking for something indoors, Olympic Theatre Arts presents The 39 Steps. Don't forget the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at Sequim Civic Center in the morning.
Saturday, September 12, is a busy day for markets with the Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market, Port Angeles Farmers Market, and Belfair Saturday Market all open. For art lovers, the Port Angeles Second Saturday Art Walk is a free monthly event. Music-wise, Cold Comfort plays at the Quilcene Lantern, and Ian Maksin brings "The Power of Cello" to the First Congregational Church United Church Of Christ in Forks. If you're feeling active, the GOAT Run, Full & Half-Marathon takes place on the Olympic Discovery Trail. And for a unique shopping experience, check out the Hwy 112 Great Strait Sale.
Sunday, September 13, continues the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend. The Chimacum Farmers Market is open, and the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center hosts the last day of the "Kinship: A Collaboration With Nature" Exhibit. Music options include JazzVox: Caity Gyorgy & Mark Limacher at JazzVox: Sequim, and Sol Azul for Soulful Sundays at Taps. You can also catch another performance of The 39 Steps at Olympic Theatre Arts.
Looking Ahead to Next Week
Midweek, on Wednesday, September 16, the Railroad Bridge Park Bird Walk is back at Dungeness River Nature Center. Thursday, September 17, brings Pool Tax to the Quilcene Lantern for a live music performance.
Next weekend, Friday, September 18, the Port Townsend Farmers Market is on. Olympic Theatre Arts hosts their Out Loud Story Slam. Saturday, September 19, marks the Quilcene Fair and Parade, a free annual event with music, art, and food. The Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market, Port Angeles Farmers Market, and Belfair Saturday Market are also running. For music, Olympickin' 2026 kicks off at the Quilcene Lantern. On Sunday, September 20, the Chimacum Farmers Market is open, and Deadwood Revival plays a free show at Taps at the Guardhouse. Luca Stricagnoli performs a candlelight concert at Field Arts & Events Hall. Also on Sunday, the Quilcene Oyster Races offer various distances for runners.
