Forks Logging Tours, Hoodstock, and Clallam County Fair

We're heading into mid-August on the Peninsula, and that means a few things: plenty of outdoor music, the last push of summer markets, and county fair season kicking into gear.

This Week's Highlights

Wednesday starts with a Railroad Bridge Park Bird Walk in Sequim at the Dungeness River Nature Center, kicking off at 8:00 AM. If you're over in Forks, the Forks Logging & Mill Tours are happening from the Forks Chamber Of Commerce at 8:45 AM, and it's free. For some evening entertainment, National Park Radio plays a free show at the Port Angeles City Pier & Hollywood Beach at 6:00 PM as part of the Concerts on the Pier series.

Thursday, you can catch the Migration Exhibit at Northwind Art if you're in Port Townsend. Later, Sam Grisman Project with Danny Barnes will be at Field Arts & Events Hall at 6:00 PM. If you're looking for something free and local, Open Mic w/ Nathan Smurthwaite is at the Quilcene Lantern at 7:00 PM.

The Weekend Ahead

Friday brings Hoodstock: A Floating Music Festival to Hood Canal Marina — a two-day event. For something a bit more grounded, there's New Art Show ~ Peninsula Fiber Artists at the Meadery - "Fiber Unbound" at Wilderbee Farm. Music-wise, The Hot Club Swing Jam hosted by Ms. Jessica & Friends is at Finnriver Farm & Cidery in the evening.

Saturday is a busy one. Start your morning at the Sequim Farmers & Artisans Market or the Port Angeles Farmers Market. For art lovers, the Port Angeles Art Studio Tour is a self-guided option to visit various studios around town starting at 10:00 AM. There's also the Uptown Street Fair in Port Townsend, an all-day event with music and crafts. If you're into something a bit faster, West End Thunder Drag Racing is happening at Forks Airport - S18. In the evening, The Rumba Kings play at Field Arts & Events Hall at 7:30 PM.

Sunday wraps up the weekend with the Chimacum Farmers Market at Chimacum Corner Farmstand starting at 10:00 AM. For music, the Olympic Chamber Music Fellowship Presents "Symphonic Schubert" is at Wheeler Theater at 2:00 PM, and Tevis Hodge Jr plays Finnriver Farm & Cidery at 5:00 PM.

Looking Ahead

Next week, Tuesday offers free outdoor music with Music in the Park at the James Center Bandshell and Summer Nights at the Bay at Liberty Bay Waterfront Park, both starting at 6:00 PM. Wednesday, the free Railroad Bridge Park Bird Walk is back at 8:00 AM, and Concerts on the Pier: Petty Fever plays the Port Angeles City Pier & Hollywood Beach at 6:00 PM.

Thursday marks the start of the Clallam County Fair at Clallam County Fairgrounds, running through the weekend. Also on Thursday, the Ecology of the Dungeness 5-Week Course begins at the Dungeness River Nature Center at 9:30 AM.

Friday, TARBOO 2026: The Olympic Peninsula's Music Festival kicks off at Quilcene Lantern at 3:00 PM. It continues through Sunday. Saturday brings another Farmers and Artisans Market to the Sequim Civic Center at 9:00 AM. And on Sunday, you can catch the final day of the Clallam County Fair.
